Climate change poses increasing risks for urban areas, especially in coastal regions where heavy rainfall, sea level rise, and storm surges may combine to overwhelm existing stormwater infrastructure. This thesis explores how urban drainage systems can be adapted to meet these challenges by developing a method that integrates hydrological modelling, temporal planning, and socio-economic considerations. The aim is to support municipalities in identifying priority areas for action and making long-term, data-driven decisions to improve flood resilience and sustainability.
