RECS (Research Environment of Computer Science) is a research environment that contributes to innovation and applications in the areas of artificial intelligence (including machine learning, deep learning, etc.), data and network security, as well as information and communication technology (such as 5/6 G, Internet of Things). The research environment was established in 2019 (the preparation process began in 2018). After the environment was established, research output has increased in the above areas within HKR. RECS currently has 12 doctoral researchers with one professor and two docents, and is continuously growing. The environment has been the organizer of the 16th and 18th Swedish National Computer Networking and Cloud Computing Workshop. RECS is also the organizer of the annual RECS workshop in machine learning and communication technology. The environment has strategic importance for regional development in the era of industry 4.0 and has strong research links to one of the largest campus education programs at HKR.
