Public health science is a multidisciplinary subject with many important areas of research. My research focuses on work and health, physical activity, sport and health, and appearance, body image and health.
The majority of my research has a salutogenic approach, is conducted in close collaboration with the research setting, as action research with adherent focus on research for health-related change.; "health promotion". The combination of action research and health promotion entails the application of a participant-oriented or person-centred approach. Research and health promotion is thus conducted in cooperation with relevant target groups and organisations. The majority of my work-related research has featured an employee focus in activities within the healthcare services and nursing. Where physical activity and sport are concerned, cooperation has for example taken place with the Skåne Sports Federation, various sports associations and municipal representatives of the recreational sector, but also with schools in the form of health-promoting school development projects. Research into appearance and body image are a result of my participation in an international collaboration project (Erasmus+) where representatives for public activities, higher education institutions and non-profit organisations from various European countries have participated.
My research in all three areas has resulted in courses being developed and offered in the area of health science at Kristianstad University. As a teacher, I am active in the area of health science in general, but primarily on the Nursing Programme and the Public Health and Education programme.

Since 2011, I have also had various positions and assignments within the scope of my lectureship at the university. Among other things, I have acted as deputy head of section, head of department and member of various boards and steering committees. At present, I am the coordinator of the Public Health and Education programme and member of the faculty board for the Faculty of Health Sciences.
