I defended my doctoral thesis in March 2022, at Lund University in the subject medical science with a focus on gerontology. My doctoral thesis aimed to develop knowledge about possible health-promoting aspects of preventive home visits to older persons, from an individual and a societal perspective. The thesis work was based on the development and research project preventive home visits for seniors (Pre-H), which is part of the Research platform for collaboration for health at Kristianstad University.
During my doctoral studies, I was involved in the committee for postgraduate education at Kristianstad University and a member of the coordination group for the research platform for collaboration for health. I was also affiliated with the SWEAH Swedish National Graduate School for Competitive Science on Aging and Health and the research group Active and Healthy Aging at Lund University. Previously, I also worked as a nurse in municipal health care, I also have a master's degree in public health science from Lund University.
I am now active with research within the Nordic Health Promotion Research Network and a member of SAIN (SWEAH Alumni Interdisciplinary Network). Furthermore, I continue with research with a focus on health-promoting interventions for older persons. I am primarily interested in how health can be promoted in older persons at both an individual and a societal level. I am also a member of the Swedish Gerontological Society. In terms of teaching, I am mainly involved in the specialist nursing program focusing on care of older persons, where I work as a coordinator. The specialist nursing program focusing on care of older persons is implemented in collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Jönköping University, Kristianstad University, University West and Linnaeus University.
