Research

In March 2022, I completed my doctoral studies at Lund University in the field of medical science, specialising in gerontology. My dissertation aimed to enhance understanding of potential health-promoting aspects of preventive home visits for older adults, from both individual and societal perspectives. The dissertation was based on the developmental and research project titled Preventive Home Visits for Seniors (Pre-H), which is part of the collaborative health research platform at Kristianstad University. Currently, I serve as the assistant project leader for the Pre-H project.

My current research primarily focuses on health-promoting and preventive home visits for older adults. I am interested in how health can be promoted among older adults at both individual and societal levels. In the project "Utilization of Preventive Home Visits at a Societal Level," I serve as the project leader. We explore how the thoughts and opinions shared by older adults during home visits can be beneficial at a societal level to promote healthy aging.

Additionally, I am involved in the PreSens project: Sensor-based screening of fall risk during preventive home visits for seniors, where I serve as the assistant supervisor to Madelene Törnblom. In the upcoming fall of 2024, we will commence the project "The Importance of Playfulness and Play for the Health and Well-being of Older Adults with Reduced Mobility," where I will be an assistant supervisor to a doctoral candidate.

I am also actively engaged in research within the Nordic Health Promotion Research Network and a member of the SAIN (SWEAH Alumni Interdisciplinary Network). Additionally, I serve as a member of the nominating committee for the Swedish Gerontological Society and a board member of the National Association for Nurses in Elderly and Dementia Care. Furthermore, I am the editor-in-chief of the journal Ä - a magazine for nurses in elderly and dementia care."

During my doctoral studies, I was involved in the doctoral education committee at Kristianstad University and a member of the coordination group for the collaborative health research platform. I was also affiliated with the SWEAH Swedish National Graduate School for Competitive Science on Ageing and Health and the research group Active and Healthy Ageing at Lund University. Previously, I worked as a nurse in municipal healthcare, and I hold a master's degree in public health sciences from Lund University.

In terms of teaching, I am mainly involved in the specialist nursing program focusing on care of older persons, where I work as a coordinator. The specialist nursing program focusing on care of older persons is implemented in collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Jönköping University, Kristianstad University, University West and Linnaeus University.
