Expectations and Responsibilities: Education of Family Caregivers of Persons with Dementia
Between the years 2024 - 2026 I will, together with Associate Professor Åsa Alftberg from Malmö University and professor Elizabeth Hanson from Linnaeus University, conduct a project funded by Kamprad, focusing on family caregivers of persons with dementia and the education about being a family caregiver to a person with dementia they are provided from their municipality. I will commence active participation in the project in early March 2024.
Alone but connected
Since 2022, I've been involved in an international EQualCare project titled 'Alone but Connected.' My formal role in the project will conclude by 240229, though I'll continue to contribute to writing the final article during spring 2024. Participating countries include Sweden, Germany, Finland, and Latvia, with Professor Clary Krekula from Linnaeus University serving as the Swedish project manager.
EQualCare focuses on digital (in)equalities in care work and intergenerational relationships among older individuals living alone. In our digitally interconnected world, care dynamics are rapidly evolving, influenced by technology. EQualCare aims to understand how digitalization impacts care networks and intergenerational relations, potentially exacerbating existing inequalities. Through participatory action research methods, individuals aged 60 and above actively contribute as co-researchers, shaping inquiries and analyzing findings. The project also involves reviewing care responsibility and digitalization policies across participating countries, alongside analyzing national and international databases to understand living conditions, incomes, health, and care work among individuals aged 60 and above.
Education
I have completed my doctoral studies in health science at Linnaeus University. I am also a social worker, holding a master's degree in social work and a master's degree in integrated health science. Additionally, I have completed a foundational training (level 1) in systemic family therapy."
