Personal profile

Research

I have a doctor degree in Medical Science (PhD). I am a certified occupational therapist and have experience in healtcare and rehabiliteation for older people, as well as projects management.

My PhD project focused on professionals´ involvement in research and development projects in areas of ageing and health. The fact that the number of older people in Sweden as well in the world are expected to increase during the decades to come, puts increased demands on healthcare services.  One way to bridge this gap is an increased focus on involvement of professions in research.  My PhD project was a part of a larger inter- and transdisciplinary research program called UserAge were the overarching aim to understand user involvement in research on ageing and health from different perspectives with the goal to develop theories and methods for research and knowledge translation about and with users.

My interest is on involving knowledge users in the research process to ensure that the co-created knowledge from research are relevant for the knowledge users, applicable in practice and sustainable in the health care system. Knowledge users can be everyone who are interested in, benefits of or uses the knowledge from the research such as senior citizen, informal carers, professionals, policy makers or other stakeholders. Being involved means actively participate in one or more of the different steps in the research process.

Teaching

I am a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences and teach in the nursing program and the master's program in health sciences
