I hold a PhD in Medical Science and am a licensed occupational therapist with experience in municipal healthcare, social care, rehabilitation, and project management.

My research focuses on the involvement of knowledge users in the research process, with the aim of ensuring that the knowledge created collaboratively is relevant to users, applicable in practice, and sustainable within health and social care. Knowledge users include anyone with an interest in, benefit from, or use the knowledge generated through research, such as older adults, family members, professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Involvement refers to actively participating in one or more stages of the research process.

I currently serve as associate director of the Research Platform for Health in Collaboration.

SAMKUN: Collaboration arena for knowledge-based social services focusing on preventive and health-promoting interventions.

I am the project leader of this FORTE-funded collaborative project. This collaborative project aims to establish a collaboration arena that strengthens the capacity of social services for knowledge development, innovation, and co-creation of preventive and health-promoting interventions, thereby contributing to a sustainable social services system that enhances citizens’ access to health and wellbeing. The project aims to establish a collaborative platform that strengthens the social services sector’s capacity for knowledge development, innovation, and co-creation related to preventive and health-promoting interventions, thereby contributing to sustainable social services that enhance citizens’ access to health and well-being. Researchers at the Research Platform Health in Collaboration at Kristianstad University, eight municipalities in Skåne, and representatives from the idea-driven sector collaborate.

In addition, I am the project leader of a project in which we explore healthcare and social care professionals’ conditions for engaging in research from managers’ perspectives.

Additionally, I am involved in the following research projects:

• ComPerCe-OP: Training in person-centred communication from education to clinical practice – equipping nurses to engage in conversations with older adults about emotions and existential needs, where I am co-supervisor to Sanna Hellgren.
• ComPerCe: Training in person-centred communication about emotional and existential concerns.

I am also involved in Group Concept Mapping studies within:

• PROLIVA: Professional quality of life and health behaviours among intensive care unit healthcare staff;
• PERLE: Person-centred care and person-centred leadership in residential care facilities;
• COLOURS: Focusing on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) at universities across Europe.

Previous research projects have focused on aspects of collaboration in the pursuit of seamless, person-centred health and social care, where design thinking was used as a method.

In my doctoral thesis, I focused on professionals’ involvement in research and development projects in the field of ageing and health.

As the proportion of older people in Sweden and globally is expected to increase over the coming decades, this places greater demands on the health and social care sectors and emphasizes the need to bridge the gap between research and practice. One way to do so is to strengthen the involvement of professionals in research.

My doctoral work was part of UserAge, an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research programme. The overarching aim of UserAge was to advance knowledge on the involvement of individuals outside academia in ageing and health research from various perspectives, with the goal of developing theories and methods for research and knowledge translation about and with people outside academia.

I am a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences and teach in the Nursing Programme and the Master's Programme in Health Sciences at Kristianstad University.

I am the course coordinator for the course Bachelor’s Thesis in Nursing in the Nursing Programme and for the course Evaluation for Change in the Master’s Programme in Integrated Health Sciences.
