Research

I am Associate Professor in Management Control and Accounting at the Faculty of Business, Kristianstad University (Sweden), where I am member of the research environment GRIP (Governance, Regulation, Internationalization and Performance).

I conduct research on various topics including: governance, control and performance of public service organizations; implementation of smart city strategies and circular economy; challenges of collaborative innovation projects; citizen engagement in sustainable urban development; accounting for vulnerability; accounting and organizational change; sustainability and integrated reporting; sustainability assurance; the impact of digitalization on the accounting industry; the influence of performance metrics on academics’ identity; the integration of SDGs in academic curricula; science communication.

I have extensive experience in applying qualitative research methodologies and various theoretical lenses. I am part of a wide network of scholars as I regularly collaborates with both Swedish and international colleagues in various research projects.
