Personal profile

Research

Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science
My research focuses on water and water purification. I have a strong interest in studying wetlands and their functions in relation to water quality. In recent years, I have focused on water color and how wetlands can reduce or increase it. I have also studied ways to reduce iron and aluminum concentrations in wetlands.

I have also worked with more technically advanced water treatment methods, such as ozonation of contaminated water and the use of different types of filter materials. Another area that interests me is the recycling of nutrients back into natural cycles in particular, how nitrogen and phosphorus can be returned to agriculture.
