    Personal profile

    Research

I am a senior lecturer in Organization and Leadership within the Business Department. I earned my PhD from the Faculty of Management at the University of Bath, UK, where my doctoral research explored organizational learning and change, particularly examining the influence of power and emotions on these processes.

Since 2005, I have been part of academia, teaching and conducting research in business and management faculties at universities in Kazakhstan, Cambodia, and the United Kingdom before settling in Sweden. As a senior lecturer, I strive to give equal attention to research and teaching. I have extensive international experience in teaching at both bachelor's and master's levels and began my tenure as a senior lecturer here at Kristianstad in 2018. I am responsible for several courses at both bachelor's and master's levels, both on-campus and digital. I have participated in developing courses and programs at the university and was the program coordinator for the Master's Program at the university from 2020 to 2022.

My primary research interests lie in the study of organizational learning, change, and leadership. I am particularly interested in how relational dynamics between people affect, both positively and negatively, learning and change processes within organizations. That is why I prefer studying these subjects from the perspectives of emotions and power relations. I approached leadership studies through the study of gender and the identity of women. I supervise bachelor’s and master’s level thesis work and examine doctoral theses internationally.

The most recent research project I lead is titled ‘Identity of Women in Leadership Roles in Educational Institutions in Kazakhstan,’ involving collaborations with international colleagues from the University of Aberdeen in identity and leadership. In my research, I employ qualitative methodologies (for example, photo-elicitation) to understand and capture the dynamics among individuals within organizations.
