Over time, my research has increasingly focused on issues related to health and health economics and I belong to the university's research group PRO-CARE. However, my doctoral dissertation was in a completely different area, namely currency prices. In the dissertation, I used temporary equilibrium models as well as overlapping generational models to analyse the properties and dynamics of exchange rates, both over time and during uncertainty.
In the research related to health and health economics, I have been involved in several different projects, including one that studies frequent visitors to psychiatric emergency rooms and one that concerns preventive home visits to seniors. In health economics, it is often important to be able to measure the degree of health changes related to specific interventions. Quality-assured measurement of health effects has gained a great deal of focus in my research, most often using psychometric and metrological methods and especially Rasch Measurement Theory (RMT).
My background as a researcher in both financial markets and metrology has led me to also be involved in a project that focuses on developing methods to be able to measure various aspects of sustainability and sustainability work within companies and organizations.
Part of my research time has been devoted to investigating various aspects of teaching and studies. I have been particularly interested in factors that affect the efficiency of teaching and studies. For these purposes, I have used both parametric (stochastic frontier analysis) and non-parametric methods (data envelopment analysis).
