Personal profile

Research

A major research interest is the care of older persons, and how to improve the care in different ways. Existential needs and existential health in this age, needs recognition and space in health care. Therefore, health care staff need support, time and space to be better equipped encountering existential issues and having existential conversations. In person-centered care the encounter with the older person / patient is essential, but working methods, organization and leadership are also important parts for care of good quality. Another important aspect is collaboration between different care units and care levels, as well as collaboration with other professionals. These are important aspects for developing a sustainable care, where the patient's physical, social, psychological, and existential needs are met.

Other research interests are volunteers and their opportunities to participate in care, as well as the importance of person-centered leadership.
