    Petra Nilsson Lindström holds a Ph.D. in Medical Science, in the field of Public Health Science. I work as Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Health Science and as Assistant Professor in Health Science.  I am promoted to Accomplished Associate Professor at Kristianstad University and I am also the research group leader of HERD@HKR – Higher Education Research and Development.

    My research focus is overall based on a salutogenic perspective on health and empowerment processes. I conduct research in various arenas, for example working life, school and daily activities, with a person-centred and action-oriented approach. I also conduct higher education pedagogical research, mainly in relation to student-centred learning and academic teachership.

    My thesis work (2010) and subsequent two post doc projects focused on work-related health in the form of salutogenic factors that make employees feel good at work; development and quality testing of salutogenic questionnaires for work and health; how survey processes are perceived and can function in work environment work and how organizations work with employee interviews.

    The current research project (2020-2025) in which I am the project leader is called: "Grow with horse power - research on person-centeredness for increased health and personal development in daily activity" at Fulltofta Nature Center.

    I am co-supervisor to several doctoral students:

    Teaching

    I work as associate professor, teaching on courses and programmes in the field of public health science, as well as methods courses. I teach both on-campus and online courses at bachelor, master and postgraduate levels.  In addition, I supervise and examine degree projects at the bachelor, master and doctoral level in public health science and health science.

    My interest in higher education pedagogics is mainly focused on student-centred learning, Universal Design for Learning and academic teachership.  I was promoted to Accomplished Associate Professor at Kristianstad University.

    I am one of two editors (Bringsén Å. & Nilsson Lindström, P.) of the textbook Hälsopromotion i teori och praktik: olika arenor och målgrupper (Health promotion in theory and practice: different arenas and target groups) which was published in Swedish by Liber in 2019.
