Research

My doctoral project focuses on equity care based on person-centered care. Today, healthcare can differ depending on where the person seeking care lives and what background the person has. People who live in neighborhoods with high socio-economic vulnerability and social exclusion risk receiving poorer care than the rest of the population. At the same time, these people have an increased risk of poor health and premature death. Why these differences occur is not completely identified, but we know that the earlier in the care chain the person receives the right care, the greater the chances of health. Therefore, my research focuses on the early part of the person's care chain. The purpose of the research is to increase the understanding of the care meeting between people who live in socio-economically vulnerable neighborhoods and the ambulance service to be able to understand how and why differences can arise in this care context. This to be able to design education and interventions that promote more equity care. The research also aims to develop the person-centered care meeting with people who live in these neighborhoods in order to achieve a more equity care and thereby also increased conditions for health for these people.
