Abstract
The spectrum of five times ionized silicon, Si Vi, has been investigated in the wavelength region 433 to 490 A. The silicon ions were obtained by means oflaser produced plasmas. 52 lines have been identified as belonging to the2p43d-2p44ftransition array. All but two of the 30 levels belonging to the2p44fconfiguration have been found. The uncertainty of the experimentallydetermined level values is less than 5 cm-1, relative to the established levelsin2p42d.The identifications are based on isoelectronic comparisons andsupported by parametric calculations.
