The 3d2configuration in Ca IX-Zn XIX

Abstract

Spectra emitted from laser produced plasmas of Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn have been recorded in the region 170-800 Å. In magnesium-like Ca IX to Mn XIV transitions establishing the 1D, 3F and 1G terms of 3d2have been identified. The 3F and 1G terms are reported also for Fe XV to Zn XIX. Ab initio calculations support the identifications and provide LSJ eigenvector components for the energy levels.
