Research suggests that our food choices have a crucial impact on our health andwell-being. A diet rich in anti-inflammatory foods can help prevent and combatchronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity. Thisdietary approach is especially relevant for individuals in sedentary professions, who are at an increased risk of these diseases. The study's aim is to explore howthe design methods of gamification and behavior change techniques (BCT) can beintegrated into the design of a mobile application to motivate healthier eatinghabits among employees in sedentary work environments. Through a literaturereview and a user-centered design process involving five participants, a needsbasedprototype was created, which was then evaluated using qualitative research, through semi-structured interviews. The results particularly indicate that fourdesign fields contribute to increased engagement: the integration of a socialmedium, components ensuring health efforts, the division of behavioralachievements into weekly sub-goals, and catering to the need for privacy settings.
