In this term paper I will find out if teachers use song and their reason for using song. I will also see if the teachers see any positive effects on the pupils language development, motivation, and language anxiety. The material was collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers from grades 1-3. Since song is used both as a pedagogical tool and a method and teachers require different kinds of knowledge when it comes to teaching the TPACK-theory was chosen since it is used to explain teachers knowledge in different areas. In conclusion, song is used by teachers and the reason they use it is based on experience, pupils interests, and research. Song as a pedagogical tool has a positive effect on the pupils language development.
