: En intervjustudie om fritidshemspersonalens beskrivningar av deras arbete

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how staff in leisure time centers describe their work and their own role in producing students´ physical activity. Six informants from different leisure time centers in southern Sweden participated in the study and the methods used were personal semi-structured interviews. The informants did not need any specific education but had to have worked at the leisure time center for at least one year in order to participate in the study. The staff who participated in the study consisted of two after-school pedagogues, one preschool teacher, one after-school teacher and two elementary teachers with focus on work in after-school centers. The results that emerged were analyzed using embodied didactics and a didactic triangle. The analysis is categorized into three parts: The staff’s presentation of physical activity, the staff’s interaction with the students’ and the students’ interests in relation to physical activity. These showed that staff worked variedly to produce physical activity, by interacting with pupils and understanding their interest. The conclusions of the study were that the after-school staff’s commitment to physical activity occurred mostly in outdoor environments or the gymnasium. Physical activities were held both at the after-school center and during breaks during the school day and were based on the students’ interests. The school yard and the surrounding environment were considered to be favorable for the students’ movement.
