Abstract

We have with our research study tried to find out in which places the most amount of conflicts occur in the afterschool program and under which cirucumstances these conflicts occur. With the use of grounded theory we have carried out a combination of semi-structured and structured observations. These observations have been focused on the play-time of students outside in the afterschool program. The results of our observations are split up in order to answer our two research questions. The first question regarding the places of conflict outside in the afterschool program, gave us following result: The most amount of conflict in students free play time outside in the afterschool program are places with the condition to follow a well recognized rulebook The second question regarding the circumstances of the free play-time in these places gave us the following result: On the places where the most conflict occur in the afterschool programs free play-time, the circumstances have limitations. With these results in mind we can with our research study draw the following conclusion. The most conflicts between students in the free-play time outside in the afterschool program, occur in places that have a condition to follow a well recognized rulebook with circumstances that have limitations.
