From a survey by Generation-Pep (2023), the results show that only two out of ten children achieve the recommendations of being physically active for about 60 minutes a day. Teachers in school age educare meet many students who attend after-school programmes. The teachers in school age educare also had similar perceptions that the students' own participation was one of the strategies that motivated most to physical activity. Finally, the challenges of the different conditions that school age educare teachers have in order to motivate pupils for physical activity were also highlighted.
