The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of a research circle, organized by Kristianstad University, on the participants' perceptions of relational competence and the impact this process had on their pedagogical practice. A qualitative research method was used to collect data, where nine semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants via Teams. The results were then analyzed with a thematic analysis. The study takes its theoretical starting point in relational pedagogy. More specifically, the study's data is analysed using the Relational Competence Model. The results of the thematic analysis highlight two themes – 1. Make visible and confirm the importance of relationship work, 2. A common language. The study shows that participation in the research circle has strengthened the educators' understanding of relational competence and contributed to a more reflective and conscious approach in meeting with students with NDD. Through collegial learning, a common language and testing new strategies, the participants' pedagogical practice has developed. The organization has also implemented the work of the research circle in its continued learning, which strengthens an inclusive learning environment and benefits the students' development.
