Abstract

The purpose of this empirical survey is to interview and investigate active teachers in their opinion of opportunities and difficulties in their usage of outdoor education, focusing on natural science in the year 4-6. We want to discover what the influencing factors are and how it affects the teachers in their choice of education method. The results we got based on a content analysis and with a phenomenology theory were that the teachers would like to use outdoor education in greater extent because of all the benefits with the teaching method. Unfortunately, there are some factors that prevent them from using the teaching method, for example the lack of control, the large groups of students and other circumstances regarding economics and finances.
