Abstract
This study examines how digital development has affected young people's relationship with nature and their sense of place. Technological advancements are reshaping how young people interact with and perceive the world, with mobile phones and digital platforms being central to their social lives and identity. Through social media and influencers, authentic relationships are created that influence their view of nature and physical places. At the same time, increased screen time can have negative effects on young people's health, leading to reduced well-being and changed lifestyle habits. The study explores young people's relationship with nature through social media and digital platforms in Skåne municipalities, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. The results show that young people have a strong sense of place and value time spent in nature, but the physical experience remains central to their well-being. Social media serves as an inspiration source and creates an emotional connection to nature, even for those without direct access. For young people in urban areas, social media helps create a sense of belonging and place attachment, but the physical experience cannot be replaced digitally. The conclusion shows that digital media reshapes and strengthens young people's relationship with nature by combining physical and digital experiences -digital place attachment.
