    Abstract

The Pilot School is a commonly used concept among investors in Sweden and is related to a large ownership by the CEO. A large CEO ownership could be used as a signal to other shareholders that the CEO has faith in the company, he or she, runs. The purpose of this paper is to investigate what impact CEO ownership has on firm performance on a multilateral trading facility. This study was conducted by an archival research methodology, followed by a multiple regression analysis. The result shows that CEO ownership has a slightly positive effect on firm performance on a multilateral trading facility, however, the relationship is not statistically significant. This study contributes to society through the knowledge of what impact CEO ownership has on firm performance on a multilateral trading facility in the form of Nasdaq First North Stockholm, and whether the principle of “The Pilot School” is followed on this market or not.
