Abstract
Dealing with date-time data time is problematic in programming. Conflict andinaccurate calendars, time zones, daylight savings, and the irregularity of the
Earth rotation which leads to leap second adjustment.
Date-time data type never has their fair share of standardisation like numbers and
text. This thesis demonstrates some of the current date-time problems and
proposes a vision for a better date-time data type followed by a design and
implementation as console application which shall encode/decode date-time
from/to bitwise representation.
