The purpose of the study is to investigate leisure teachers perceptions of the importance of good relationships with students at the leisure center, how it can contribute to the conditions in teaching, and whether there are any situations that are more favorable for creating good relationships. Analysis and processing of empirics and results have been carried out using the theoretical perspective of phenomenography and the framework factor theory. The collection of empirical data took place with the help of individual semi-structured interviews. Four interviews have been conducted with qualified leisure teachers from larger schools in the central towns where they work. The theoretical foundation of the study is based on the latest articles, literature and previous research around leisure centers and compulsory schools. The results show a different thoughts surrounding good relationships between leisure teachers and students in leisure centers, but also what influence these relationships have on the leisure center. The study has generated different perceptions made about the importance of good relationships in leisure centers. These perceptions are about security, the content of the teaching, the opportunities to adapt teaching to the individual and the importance of the environment and strategies for good relations. The informants also highlight possible challenges in creating good relationships where one that stands out being that handling large groups of students make creating good relationships difficult.
