: En studie om hur lärare i fritidshem resonerar kring sitt uppdrag utomhus

Abstract

The activity of the leisure-time center should be conducted both indoors an outdoors, and there are many advantages to conducting outdoor education. In light of this, the purpose of this study is aimed at how teachers in leisure-time centers reason about their assignment regarding outdoor activities. The research questions that is adressed is what teachers in leisure-time centers perceives as their assignment regarding outdoor activities and how they describe their actions in outdoor activities based on their understanding of the assignment. This study is a qualitative study that utilizes semi-structured interviews with a subjective sample of six teachers in leisure-time centers. The study use
hermeneutics as a scientific theory, and a hermeneutic interpretation analysis is used to interpret results. The results are presented in four categories: Interpretable assingnment, Stimulating outdoor activities, Focus on hindering factors for outdoor activities, and the Impact of engagement on outdoor activities. Teachers in leisure-time centers perceive their assignment as interpretable, and they prefere to use outings to adress the cirriculum, which may be because the schoolyard is considered unstimulating. The job description in the cirriculum is seen to offer many possibilities, but instead, the focus was on perceived obstacles to comducting the desired activities. Engagement is a strong contribution factor to conducting successful outdoor activities and the lack of proper education is particularly evident during the planning and evaluation phases. The authors of this study suggest that teachers in leisure-time centers focus more on the possibilities in the interpretable assignment and increase collaboration and engagement to develop their outdoor activities.
