The article presents literary criticism of the book "Antikrists mirakler" by Selma Lagerlöf. It explores the relationship between Sweden and Italy as seen in Lagerlöf's depictions of Sicily, Italy and in the choices made by Italian translators of the novel. According to the author, Lagerlöf attempted to depict Sicily and its culture as seen by Sicilians themselves, but her perspective remained that of an outsider. Details on the reception of the novel in Italy are also presented.
