Sammanfattning
The shore-displacement of the Baltic in two areas, at Oskarshamn and in central Gotland, was established for the Late Weichselian and early Holocene. The age of the boundary between Baltic sediments and isolated-lake sediments in basins at different elevation was dated by a combination of 14C datings and pollen stratigraphy. The occurrence of ancient shorelines was related to the shore-displacement, as was the lithology of Baltic sediments. The former salinity of the Baltic was revealed by the diatom stratigraphy of the sediments. -from Author
