Sammanfattning

The core aim of this contribution is to address the sense of safety of vulnerable people as more and more healthcare is transferred from hospitals to homes. The study is part of a broader investigation into home-based healthcare challenges, and where a radar system is proposed to sense a person’s positions and movements. Through trilateration i.e., with the use of three radar devices, the position of a person in the room will be determined, and through a developed Front-end – Back-end system the position will be monitored. Especially, this study will experiment on two cases of movements, that is, walking, and falls. A machine learning model will be trained and tested to differentiate between those cases, and especially to detect falls.
